| FEPAC is a standing committee of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS) . The mission of the FEPAC is to maintain and enhance the quality of forensic science education through a formal evaluation and recognition of college (or University) level academic programs. The primary function of the FEPAC is to develop and maintain standards and administer an accreditation program that recognizes and distinguishes high quality undergraduate and graduate forensic science programs. Laurentian University is pleased to announce that the Department of Forensic Science is the first in Canada to be granted full accreditation of its Forensic Science degrees through the American Academy of Forensic Sciences’ (AAFS) Forensic Science Education Program Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). |

The Department of Forensic Science is pleased to provide services to the general public through our outreach programs. Among these efforts include providing specialized classes and activities to Secondary Schools in northeastern Ontario. Among our initiatives is a special agreement we have with the Rainbow Board of Education linking the Department of Forensic Science with Lockerby Composite School’s grade 12 Forensic Biology and Chemistry program (see link below). Other schools are welcome to contact us in order to have us either come to your classroom or to arrange a visit of your upper level science classes to our Department at Laurentian University. Periodically, our faculty have been invited to give lectures on specific areas in forensic science to varying community groups. If you would like one of our forensic scientist to speak to your group, please contact the Department through our contact page. |
